About LiveWire
LiveWire is the editorial publication of SparkMode. It exists for one kind of reader: the parent who has already tried the obvious stuff.
They have read the books. They sat through the school meeting. They downloaded three apps. They are not looking for hope. They are looking for one specific thing that might work tonight.
The people writing this have been in the homework fight, the transition meltdown, the pediatrician meeting where someone used the word "trajectory." We are not researchers. We are not coaches. We found things that helped and we're writing them down.
We are the parent in the group chat who did the research so you do not have to, who bought the thing and will tell you honestly if it was worth it, who found the YouTube clip where the celebrity said exactly what your kid does and it finally made you feel less alone.
What we publish
The 11pm Search — Researched answers to what parents actually Google at night. Specific, cited, no filler. Every post ends with one zero-prep thing to try tonight.
They Get It Too — How well-known people describe learning differently, in their own words. No clinical labels. Just the clips and the context.
No Commission — Product recommendations with zero affiliate codes. We make $0.00 from any link on this site. The disclaimer is the whole point.
Set the Room — Playlists and ambient audio mapped to specific parenting moments. Not "focus music." The actual moment before the homework fight.
Add These — Five people worth your feed this week. Educators, researchers, creators. Short, opinionated, no fluff.
Who makes this
LiveWire is published by the SparkMode team. SparkMode is a personalized story generator for kids who resist traditional learning. You tell it what your child is obsessed with — Minecraft, the NBA, Taylor Swift, anime, whatever it is right now — and it builds reading and practice content around that world. The child never sees a worksheet. They see a mission, a quest, a match. The learning is real. The wrapper just doesn't look like school.
The core belief behind SparkMode — that context overrides resistance, and that a kid who "won't read" will happily decode complex game mechanics for three hours — is the same belief behind every post on LiveWire. We built the tool because we believed it. We run this publication because we're still living it. Try SparkMode here.
